Industrial Physics, LLC is a holding company created to build an integrated network of small and mid-sized businesses offering materials and physical testing instrumentation.  Advances in modern manufacturing and global distribution of materials and products are driving market requirements for increased testing to ensure safety and quality.

Industrial Physics’ brands are global leaders in manufacturing advanced materials testing instrumentation for use in measuring and analyzing physical properties of plastics, food and beverage cans, barrier films, paper, pulp, labels, inks, coatings, nonwoven and corrugated materials.

Meet the Management Team

Jim Neville
Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Jim Neville serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Industrial Physics. Jim is a P&L leader with a track record of delivering industry-leading profitability in global scientific instruments and life-science tools businesses. His business experience includes unique success in leading both large businesses and early-stage ventures, building global management teams, delivering profitable growth and EBITA expansion in high-technology businesses, and successfully integrating strategic acquisitions.

Prior to joining Industrial Physics, Jim was the Vice President and General Manager of several divisions of Thermo Fisher Scientific, including Radiation Measurement and Security Instruments, Laboratory Chemicals, and Laboratory Products. While at Thermo Fisher Scientific, Jim enjoyed a reputation for driving growth from new product introductions, price optimization and emerging markets. He led business transformations leveraging daily management, strategy deployment and other lean tools.

Jim holds a BS from Cornell University and an MBA from Harvard Business School and resides in the Boston, MA area.

Matthew Weinmann
Vice President, Global Operations

Mr. Matt Weinmann is a Senior Operating Executive who has built strong manufacturing foundations for stability and growth in a wide variety of industries. Regardless of industry or product, he has consistently achieved similar dynamic results. Without fail he has turned around under-performing operations and achieved significant improvements with respect to EBITDA, Cash Flow, Delivery, Quality, Productivity and Safety while improving Customer Satisfaction through the strategic application of Operational Excellence, Lean and Supply Chain Management. He has a passion for building high performance, cross-functional teams acting as coach and mentor. He has been successful working within Private Equity environments and has experience with leading multi-site manufacturing operations.

Prior to joining Industrial Physics, Matt played a key role in turning around and operationally transforming two portfolio companies for American Capital.

Matt holds a BS in Industrial Engineering from LEHIGH University and an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Michael LaCrosse
Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Michael LaCrosse serves as the Chief Financial Officer of Industrial Physics. Michael is responsible for all finance, accounting, treasury, tax, M&A and administrative activities and serves as a strategic partner to the CEO.

Prior to joining Industrial Physics, Michael held various roles at iRobot Corporation, most recently Sr. Director of Finance and Investor Relations. Michael served as the business partner for each of the three businesses, strategically supporting the General Managers. Michael was instrumental in divesting the iRobot’s Defense and Security business unit and accelerating growth of the Home business unit. Prior to iRobot, Michael was Director of Finance and Controller at Thermo Fisher Scientific and began his career at Raytheon Company in their finance leadership development program. Michael is known as results driven change agent that has developed and implemented operational strategies to eliminate waste, reduce costs, and increase globally efficiency while also establishing internal controls. He has also lead origination, execution and integration of numerous mergers and acquisitions and transformed multiple businesses from declining sales and profits to prospering, profitable, successful businesses.

Michael holds a BS in Finance from Bentley University and resides in the Boston, MA area with his wife and two daughters.

Oscar Lazaro
Vice-President Sales and Marketing

Oscar Lazaro serves as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing of Industrial Physics.

Oscar has more than 25 years of global sales and marketing experience with analytical instrumentation and medical devices. Prior to joining Industrial Physics, Oscar has worked in both high growth start-ups (Ion Track and Ahura Scientific) and large multi-national companies (GE and Hologic). Oscar is a global executive and has helped instrumentation businesses significantly grow sales in more than 75 countries using both direct sales and distribution channels. Oscar was born and raised in Europe and moved to the states to earn his Bachelor’s of Science degree in biology and economics from Syracuse University. Later, he earned an MBA from the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College. He is fully trilingual, speaking English, Spanish and French and is conversant in Italian and Portuguese. Oscar lives in the Boston area.
